- Tandberg and Telenet select Lysis iDTV Content Management solution
- Lysis supplies a new redundant video server system to PrimaCom
Cheseaux, Switzerland – March 12th 2004 – Lysis, the Kudelski Group leading provider of content management solutions to broadcasters around the world, announces that new contracts have been signed to supply the Pay-TV European operator Telenet with its iDTV Content Management system and for the delivery of a new video server system to German and Dutch cable operator PrimaCom.
TANDBERG Television, a leading provider of digital broadcast and broadband solutions, has selected Lysis to provide the Lysis iDTV content management solution as part of TANDBERG’S delivery of a complete digital cable TV and near Video on Demand (NVOD) system for Flemish cable network operator Telenet.
The Lysis iDTV Content Management system will manage the entire content cycle for all NVOD assets in the system. This includes content deals and contracts, royalty reporting, library and encoded asset management (automated movement and deletion of assets on servers), NVOD playout scheduling, and workflow management (operator task management). Additionally, Lysis iDTV system will manage the content for Telenet VOD services.
“As prime contractor for the design, build and integration of Telenet’s digital cable TV and NVOD system, one of our roles was to select third party vendors based on experience, technology and cost. We selected the Lysis IDTV content management solution because it met all of our criteria and provided a cost-effective and open solution that is interoperable with all of the other technologies within the network,” says Adrian Bell, cable segment business manager at TANDBERG Television.
Also, further to Lysis acquiring the HP DTV video server technology from Hewlett Packard, Lysis announces the contract for the delivery of a redundant video server system to PrimaCom, the private German and Dutch cable network operator. The system, which consists of two HP DS25 latest servers, has been integrated with the Lysis iDTV Content Management software already installed at PrimaCom since 2000 and will allow PrimaCom to further develop its Pay TV service offering.
“Lysis content management solutions have already been selected by many of the leading broadcasters in the world. In addition to the systems we recently provided to TV Cabo in Portugal, Starhub in Singapore and CableCom in Switzerland through our sister company Nagravision, these new contracts confirm our position as the leader in content management for transactional digital TV” says Mathieu Fivaz, Vice President at Lysis.
