NAGRAVISION MOBILE TV SERVICE PROTECTION SYSTEM INTEGRATED IN ALCATEL-LUCENT MOBILE INTERACTIVE TV PLATFORM FOR DVB-H AND DVB-SH

  • Nagravision’s Nagra Mobile conditional access system is now integrated with the Alcatel-Lucent Mobile Interactive TV platform
  • The complete solution enables a high level of service protection and interactivity for mobile TV services on DVB-H and DVB-SH networks

Amsterdam, September 7, 2007 — Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and Nagravision, a Kudelski Group (SWX:KUD) company, today announced the successful integration of Nagravision’s Nagra Mobile conditional access system with the Alcatel-Lucent Mobile Interactive TV platform. The combination of the Alcatel-Lucent and Nagravision’s respective products will allow operators to launch a complete secured and interactive mobile TV service with a short time to market. This system is now available for deployments.

Alcatel-Lucent’s Mobile Interactive TV platform is a universal solution for the delivery of interactive mobile TV supporting the OSF and OMA BCAST approaches. It is spanning unicast and broadcast technologies, supports DVB-H and DVB-SH and is one of the building blocks of Alcatel-Lucent “Unlimited Mobile TV solution”.

Nagravision, the world’s leading independent provider of value-added content protection solutions, developed the Nagra Mobile service protection solution for mobile TV, which is available with both OSF and OMA BCAST security standards. This system helps to secure operators’ revenues for their mobile TV deployments. With Nagravision elaborated business models, such as pay- per-view, pay-per-time and free floating preview, combined with the features for advanced interactivity available in Alcatel-Lucent Mobile Interactive TV solution, the overall solution will allow operators to better cater to the needs of a mass-market mobile TV service.
